25.04.2021. Greece is ‘green’ on the Covid-19 map (Credit: Greek Reporter)
ECDC’s Covid-19 map indicates positivity rates. Despite the increased numbers of coronaviruses in the country, Greece is one of the few ‘green’ countries on the ECDC’s Covid-19 map, indicating a weekly positivity rate of less than 4%. Only a small number of countries, including Greece, are completely ‘green’.
According to current information, Greece will be almost completely out of lockdown by mid-May. The first step is the opening of cafes and restaurants for outdoor dining, which will happen on Monday, May 3rd. The second step is the resumption of personal education on May 10th next for secondary and primary school students. The third and final step is to resume tourism on May 15th. Visitors from abroad who have been vaccinated or have undergone a negative coronavirus test are allowed to enter the country. In addition, interregional travel within Greece will also be allowed again.
We remain positive, especially after this report, and are working, together with our team, towards a season start on Saturday May 15th 2021. Fingers crossed!
As always, we will keep you posted, Pim & Joyce
